Instinct vs Meta Muse vs ChatGPT: Which AI Agent Is Actually Worth It for Your Business?
Quick Verdict
Three AI agents are competing for a spot in your business right now, and they are not interchangeable. Here is the short version before the details:
- Best overall for most small businesses: ChatGPT. It has published prices, a team plan with admin controls, and an Agent Mode you can use today.
- Best for owners who live in Instagram, Facebook, and Meta ads: Meta Muse. It connects directly to Meta business accounts and has a free tier.
- Best for personal errands, not yet for business: Instinct. It is invite-only, has no published pricing, and its own terms put the risk of mistakes on you.
If you only want one answer: start with ChatGPT, add Muse if your marketing runs on Meta, and wait on Instinct until it opens up and publishes what it costs.
What Each Tool Is
Instinct
Instinct is a personal AI agent that you talk to over iMessage, WhatsApp, or phone calls, with a Mac app and a web workspace at app.instinct.com. It was announced in August 2026. According to published reviews, it can check you into flights, order groceries using one-time Stripe Link cards for amounts you approve, book appointments and services, text or call you proactively, and sign into third-party accounts through a vault. Its founder said early users cancelled hundreds of dollars of subscriptions with it.
Meta Muse
Meta Muse is Meta's AI agent. On September 29, 2026 Meta added business skills and connectors to it. It works with an Instagram professional account, a Facebook Page, and Meta ad accounts, plus 15 apps: Asana, Box, Canva, Dropbox, Figma, Granola, HighLevel, Intuit QuickBooks, Klaviyo, Lovable, Notion, Shopify, Slack, Stripe, and Zoom. Custom connectors are supported. It is available in the US and Canada only.
ChatGPT
ChatGPT is OpenAI's assistant. As of October 2026, third-party pricing trackers list Agent Mode, Deep Research, Codex, Projects, and custom GPTs on the Plus plan, and a Business plan with team controls, an admin console, single sign-on, and connectors such as Slack and Google Drive.

What Each One Can Do on Its Own
Instinct: the most autonomous, with the fewest guardrails
Instinct's pitch is that it acts. It can spend money on your behalf within amounts you approve, make bookings, and follow up when a thread goes quiet. That autonomy is the appeal for a busy owner, but the published review we reviewed found no description of an approval step for sending emails, sharing files, or accepting terms. Its terms also say it is not responsible for unintended actions and that actions may not always be reversible.
Meta Muse: autonomy inside Meta's ecosystem, with approval prompts
Muse reads business data, prepares work, and acts on it. Meta says "nothing is published, sent or spent without your approval." That is a meaningful safeguard for an agent that touches ad spend and customer-facing posts.
ChatGPT: strongest for thinking, drafting and research
Plus includes Agent Mode and Deep Research. Plus is listed with 10 full and 15 lightweight Deep Research runs a month, and the free plan with 5 lightweight runs. ChatGPT is better suited to drafting contracts and emails, analyzing spreadsheets, and building plans than to placing orders for you.
What They Cannot Do
Instinct
- It is invite-only, "while we're actively bringing up more compute."
- Its terms appoint it as your agent, with agreements binding on you.
- Disconnecting an account does not delete indexed data; you must request deletion.
- Model training is on by default, and opting out does not undo past training.
- Users reported problems, including a changed seat at flight check-in and a fabricated proper noun in an incident on September 23.
Meta Muse
- No HubSpot, Salesforce, or Google Ads connectors at launch; Meta says more are coming.
- Meta has not published what each connector can read or change.
- US and Canada only.
- Approval prompts are not a complete safeguard for ad spend, so set limits in Ads Manager.
ChatGPT
- Plus per-window message caps are not published, and trackers describe usage figures as estimates.
- Go ($8) has no Agent Mode or Deep Research.
- It does not have native hooks into Meta ad accounts the way Muse does.
Pricing
Instinct
There are no public plans or prices. Its terms say you "may be required to pay us fees to access or use certain features," that pricing can change "at any time," and that all payments are non-refundable. Do not budget for it until real numbers appear.
Meta Muse
| Plan | Price | Usage |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Refreshing limit, number not published |
| Power | $20 per month | 500M Muse tokens |
| Maximum | $100 per month | 3B Muse tokens |
Business tools use the standard Muse plans; there is no separate business price. Meta says subscriptions are still in limited testing and not offered everywhere.
ChatGPT (US list prices, October 2026)
| Plan | Price |
|---|---|
| Free | $0 |
| Go | $8 per month |
| Plus | $20 per month |
| Pro tiers | $100, $200 or $500 per month |
| Business Standard | $20 per user per month billed annually, $25 monthly; minimum 2 seats |
| Business Premium | $100 per user per month billed annually, $125 monthly; minimum 2 seats |
Pricing changes often, so confirm on each vendor's site before you buy. The figures above come from third-party trackers citing OpenAI's pricing page.
Who Each Tool Is For
Choose ChatGPT if
You want one assistant for writing, analysis, research, and planning, and you may add employees. The team plan's admin controls matter once more than one person is using it with customer information. For a one-person business, Plus at $20 a month is the straightforward starting point.
Choose Meta Muse if
Instagram, Facebook, or Meta ads drive your sales, or you already use Shopify, Klaviyo, QuickBooks, or Stripe. The free tier lets you test it with little risk. Begin with read-only access and cap ad spend in Ads Manager before connecting anything that can spend money.
Choose Instinct if
You are a tech-comfortable owner who wants a personal assistant for travel and errands and can get an invite. Keep it away from business bank cards, customer data, and anything you cannot undo until it publishes pricing and clearer controls.
The Use-Case Winners
- Drafting, research, and analysis: ChatGPT
- Social and ad management on Meta: Meta Muse
- Team use with admin controls: ChatGPT Business
- Lowest cost to try: Meta Muse Free
- Personal travel and errands: Instinct, if you can get in
- Handling customer or financial data: ChatGPT Business, until the others document their controls
Safety Checklist Before You Connect Any AI Agent
- Start with read-only access to every connected account.
- Set spending limits at the source, such as your ad platform or a dedicated card, not just inside the agent.
- Check whether your data is used for training and how to delete it.
- Keep a human approval step for anything that sends, publishes, signs, or pays.
- Use a separate business bank account or card with a set limit for any agent that can spend.
Bottom Line
ChatGPT is the safest pick for most owners because its prices are public and its team controls exist. Meta Muse is the best specialist if your customers find you on Meta. Instinct is interesting but not ready for business use. Whichever you try, keep the money and the sensitive data on a short leash.
