ChatGPT Dots vs Gemini vs Meta Muse: Which AI Agent Is Worth It for Your Business?

ChatGPT Dots vs Gemini vs Meta Muse: Which AI Agent Is Worth It for Your Business?

In three weeks, Meta, OpenAI and Google each launched an AI agent aimed at people who run businesses. They are not chatbots. You give them a goal, and they work on it while you do something else. But they differ sharply in price, who can use them, and how much they can safely do without you. This guide compares OpenAI's ChatGPT dots, Google's Gemini agent and Meta Muse so you can pick one without spending a month testing all three.

    The Quick Verdict

    • Best for most owners in the US or Canada: Meta Muse. It is the only one of the three with a free tier, and its small business connectors cost nothing extra.
    • Best if you already pay for ChatGPT Pro or Business Premium: ChatGPT dots. It runs several projects at once and works across many apps.
    • Best for teams already on Google Workspace or Microsoft 365: Gemini's agent, with a caveat. It is built for business customers first, but Google has not published its price, limits or release date, so it is hard to budget for today.

If you only want to try one this week, start with Muse. It costs nothing to test, and you can stop at any time.

What Each Agent Does on Its Own

ChatGPT dots: several projects at once

Dots runs multiple projects at the same time on its own cloud computer, then reports progress or asks you questions. Between requests, it does read-only "proactive research" across the apps you connect, and it runs reminders and recurring checks you schedule. OpenAI does not describe it starting work on its own when a new email or form arrives, so it is closer to a tireless assistant than a trigger-based automation tool.

    Gemini agent: objectives, not instructions

Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian said the agent can be given "objectives, not just instructions." It plans the work, uses custom skills and tools, delegates to subagents, and shows its reasoning and progress in a "tasks inbox." It connects to Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Jira, Confluence, and databases such as Postgres, Snowflake and BigQuery, plus any Model Context Protocol server. It also gets its own Workspace account with an email address, and it writes an audit trail attributed to the agent rather than to a person. Early testers include Shopify, PayPal and On.

Meta Muse: a goal list and small business connectors

Muse turns a goal into a plan, tracks it in a Goals tab, and keeps working after you close the app. It comes back when something changes or it needs your approval. Without a connector, it can open a browser and fill in forms, and it can call US businesses on your behalf. The small business version connects to Shopify, Slack, Dropbox, Asana, Box, Canva, Figma, Intuit QuickBooks, Klaviyo, Notion, Stripe, Zoom and others, plus Instagram analytics, Facebook Pages and Meta ad accounts. Meta says it also learns what you sell, your brand's tone, and the questions customers ask most.

    What They Cannot Do

This is where the marketing and the reality split.

    ChatGPT dots limits

    • It cannot call you at launch, and it has no email address of its own.
    • You cannot view or delete its memories one by one. Clearing them means resetting the dot, which deletes it.
    • Auto-review cannot be turned off.
    • Texting is a limited US beta for some Pro users.
    • Dots usage does not count toward plan allowances for the first month. OpenAI has not published terms after that, so the real long-term cost is unknown.

    Gemini agent limits

    • Google has not published a price, usage limits or a general release date for the agent.
    • No per-run cost can be forecast, which matters if you pay for usage.
    • Access by plan, region and account type is unconfirmed, and free access is unconfirmed.

    Meta Muse limits

    • It is available only in the US and Canada, and its desktop app is Mac only.
    • Its own email address was announced with no date.
    • Amazon blocked it from buying on its site, and per CNBC, not all retail connectors are live yet.
    • Muse does not reply to customers. That job belongs to a separate product, Meta Business Agent, which is billed separately.
    • Meta's terms let it change or discontinue the free offering at any time without notice.

Pricing: What You Will Actually Pay

    Meta Muse

The free tier has a weekly allowance that refreshes; one report cites Zuckerberg's launch post at 100 million tokens a week. Power costs $20 a month for 500 million tokens a week, and Maximum costs $100 a month for 3 billion tokens a week. Each user needs a personal subscription, and Meta describes no team plan. The small business connectors are included, but your own app subscriptions, ad spend and anything Muse buys are billed outside the plan. Replies to customers on WhatsApp through Meta Business Agent run $2.00 per million tokens, roughly 4 to 5 cents per message, according to one analysis. That analysis comes from a company that sells a competing customer-support product, so treat the framing with care.

    ChatGPT dots

Dots starts at ChatGPT Pro, which is $100 a month billed monthly with no annual option. It is not available on the Free, Go or Plus plans. Business Premium seats can also use it, but the price has not been published.

    Gemini agent

There is no agent price. A third-party report lists Gemini Enterprise seats at $21 per user per month for Business, $30 for Standard and $50 for Plus, which it says would put a ten-person team at $210 to $500 a month before usage charges. That figure is not from Google, and it is not confirmed that the new agent is included in those seats. Google says new spending options, including real-time spend caps, will help businesses control AI costs.

    Who Each Tool Is For

    Choose Meta Muse if

You are a solo owner or a very small team in the US or Canada, you use Shopify, QuickBooks, Stripe or Klaviyo, and you want to test an agent at no cost. It is the lowest-risk way to learn what an agent can and cannot do for you.

    Choose ChatGPT dots if

You already pay $100 a month for ChatGPT Pro, or your company has Business Premium seats, and you live in Slack or Teams. It is also the pick if you are outside North America, because Muse is not available there.

    Choose the Gemini agent if

Your business runs on Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 and you have an administrator who can manage new tools. The audit trail and its own account are real strengths for a business that needs to show who did what. Wait for pricing and release details before you commit.

    Before You Connect Any Agent

An agent that can read your accounts can also make mistakes in them. A few rules apply to all three.

    • Start with read-only access. Connect your analytics and calendar before you connect your bank or payment processor.
    • Require approval for spending. Muse purchases need approval through a one-time Link card. Look for the same control anywhere you use an agent.
    • Keep a separate business bank account. If an agent ever touches money, you want its activity isolated. See our guide to a business bank account.
    • Check your coverage. If an agent sends something wrong to a customer, ask your insurer where that falls. Our business insurance guide explains the basics.
    • Track the savings. If an agent really saves you hours, it should show up in your profit and loss statement. If it does not, cancel the plan.

    The Bottom Line

For most small business owners today, Meta Muse is the clear winner on price and availability, as long as you are in the US or Canada. ChatGPT dots is the stronger tool for heavy, multi-project work, but at $100 a month it only makes sense if you already pay for Pro. Google's Gemini agent may end up the best fit for teams, but until it has a price and a release date, it is a watch-list item rather than a purchase.

Prices and limits on all three can change quickly, and the free offerings in particular can be changed or ended by the company. Verify current terms on each maker's site before you subscribe.
